Helisim LLC, Flight Training Center

Grand Prairie, Texas

BOKA Powell worked with Helisim, a French pilot training interest, to design a state-of-the-art pilot-training facility at Airbus Helicopters Inc.'s North American headquarters in Grand Prairie, Texas. Helisim LLC, a joint venture of Airbus Helicopters, simulator manufacturer Thales, and Défense Conseil International, will operate the two-bay facility equipped with Full Flight Simulator (FFS) devices configured for Airbus’s latest helicopter models. The added simulators are expected to help double Airbus’s training capacity to a projected 3,000 students per year.

The 18,000 SF training center includes space for pilot instruction and debriefing, cockpit and equipment storage, and offices for Helisim’s training team. BOKA Powell provided design, architecture, and interior design services, and partnered with McCarthy Building Companies and Hoar Program Management (HPM) to deliver this design-build project in May 2021.
