Southwest Airlines Remote Operations Center

McKinney, Texas

In the event of an emergency that disables Southwest’s Network Operations Center (NOC) and other corporate functions at the carrier’s Dallas headquarters, BOKA Powell has designed a new two-story, 63,922 SF, hardened Remote Operations Center (ROC) in McKinney, Texas, 35 miles to the northeast of Southwest Airlines' headquarters. This replaces Southwest’s existing un-hardened facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The Headquarters Emergency Command Center (HECC) assumes responsibility for command of emergency response efforts, coordinating and supporting all teams at an accident site.

The new ROC at roughly $16M provides open office space, meeting rooms, and support spaces to accommodate more than 600 Southwest employees.
