Texas A&M Health Science Center

Bryan, Texas

BOKA Powell assisted Texas A&M and Blinn College in strategic planning the multi-tenant education and medically oriented facility on the Texas A&M Health Science Center Campus in Bryan, Texas. The project involved creating utilization models for Blinn College to project future growth and program development, facility design development, and programming and space planning for each of the tenants, all of which form a diverse cross-section of medical organizations.

The facility includes both clinical and academic components, including the Texas Brain and Spine Institute, the Texas A&M Family Medicine Residency Program and Behavioral Medicine Program, and the Blinn College Allied Health Programs. Through programming and planning, BOKA Powell united the future strategic plan for growth via a collaborative space. The result is a facility that enables separation of patient populations and clinical programs. The space also supports the relocation and growth of six existing programs, the addition of two new programs, and opportunities for the coordination of all programs within a single facility. Also noteworthy is a new, more authentic-feeling clinical learning environment for students via a simulated hospital.
