Texas Tech University - Murray Hall

Lubbock, Texas

Murray Hall at Texas Tech University is more than a dormitory or student housing project; it is a living-learning community. The building facilitates engaged learning by bringing together 514 co-ed students with common academic and personal interests in a unique residential environment. Classrooms, meeting rooms and study spaces encourage academic collaboration, while social rooms and food service facilities promote social interaction.

Two courtyards — one public and one contemplative — support outdoor study and gatherings, while offering recreational space. Murray Hall features bedroom suites with semi-private bathrooms. Laundry facilities are also provided.

The building complex responds to the established campus master plan and embodies the new housing commons paradigm at Texas Tech. This project is LEED®-certified.
